About the Role
Hyde is seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Operations Controller (Group) to join our Financial Control and Reporting function. Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you will manage a team of Accountants and lead the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of statutory financial reporting, monthly reporting, and year-end audit requirements for the Group. This role combines technical accounting expertise, people leadership, and strong financial governance within a complex organisation.

You will act as the lead accountant for the external audit process, strengthen financial controls, and provide clear technical advice that supports confident decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include managing, motivating, and developing a team of Accountants while setting clear priorities and maintaining high standards of delivery; leading the preparation and review of statutory accounts, financial statements, disclosures, and supporting analysis; coordinating Group audit requirements by working closely with external auditors and Finance colleagues to resolve queries and deliver accurate evidence on time; providing technical accounting advice on complex reporting matters ensuring robust and consistent accounting treatments; maintaining strong financial controls, reconciliations, approvals, and review points across monthly and year-end reporting; identifying reporting risks, control weaknesses, and process gaps and recommending practical improvements to strengthen governance and assurance; building effective relationships across Finance and the wider business to translate complex financial information into clear guidance and insight; and driving continuous improvement in reporting processes, templates, controls, timetables, and team capability.

Experience
- A recognised professional accountancy qualification
- Substantial experience of statutory reporting, financial accounting, and year-end audit in a complex organisation
- Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards, statutory accounts preparation, financial disclosures, and audit evidence requirements
- Proven experience managing audit deliverables, resolving auditor queries, and maintaining robust working papers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Experience managing or supervising finance colleagues, setting priorities, and building capability within a reporting or financial control environment
