About the Role
Hyde is looking for a Fire Safety Surveyor to support active fire safety works across our homes and communal buildings. This is a great opportunity to move into a client-side role where your technical knowledge will help improve safety, compliance, service quality and contractor performance for our customers. You will survey properties, prepare clear work specifications, review remedial works, oversee contractors and provide technical advice on active fire safety systems. Key duties include checking that active fire safety works, including fire risk assessment actions, repairs, cyclical and planned maintenance, meet legal, safety and quality standards. You will complete property surveys and prepare specifications, schedules, reports, drawings, tender documents and cost estimates. Managing contractors and monitoring performance against agreed service levels, quality standards and budgets will be essential. You will identify risks, defects, unsafe working practices and recurring issues, then recommend clear and practical solutions. Working collaboratively with customers, contractors, colleagues and external partners to resolve fire-related repairs, emergency issues and compliance concerns is a key part of this role. Successful candidates will undergo a basic DBS check.
