About the Role
As a Food Manager at Sainsbury's, you will role model and coach for high standards and efficiency across the entire food hall. Your focus will be to ensure every customer gets the food they want, helping us remain the first choice for food shopping.

People management is a key part of this role, including managing performance and capability, conducting disciplinaries, and ensuring accurate scheduling and pay. At times, you will assume overall responsibility for running the store, providing direction and support to colleagues to deliver outstanding customer service.

Our Food Managers are bold leaders who empower their teams to raise the bar every day. Whether it’s product availability, safety standards, or seamless daily operations, you will be a hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up changemaker, making work more rewarding for colleagues and shopping a next-level experience for customers. This is how we bring our purpose to life, one powerful action at a time.

- Free food and hot drinks for colleagues in all stores
- Generous holiday entitlement, maternity and paternity leave
- Pension scheme with 4-7.5% matched contributions

We are committed to being an inclusive employer where every colleague can achieve their full potential and every customer feels welcome. We offer enhanced discretionary leave for families and support for carers, along with resources and networks to ensure representation and remove barriers. Development opportunities include mentorship, training, and career progression pathways. We celebrate diversity through initiatives and events fostering a culture of inclusion and respect.
