Description
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of fire safety projects, ensuring that targets and business objectives are met. This includes monitoring the standard of workmanship, checking the progress of work, and keeping the Executive and Client Advisor informed. You will identify trends during the FRA delivery schemes and collaborate closely with the FRA Surveyors to achieve project goals. Leading and managing a portfolio of projects, you will oversee the delivery of FRA works, ensuring compliance with current legislation, budget constraints, timelines, and specifications. Your role involves operational management of contractors responsible for implementing remedial actions identified in Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring they meet their contractual obligations and KPIs. Additionally, you’ll handle larger ad hoc capital projects related to fire safety, monitor contractor performance, and address health and safety matters on-site. You’ll maintain professional and regular communication with customers and key stakeholders about the works instructed and managed. Full responsibility for managing all assigned cases from start to finish will be required, ensuring that stakeholders and databases are updated as necessary. Building and maintaining external relationships with local authorities and suppliers will be vital to enhance trust and confidence in our service delivery. You’ll hold a relevant fire safety qualification (such as IFE, IFSM, or CIOB Level 6 in Fire Safety for Construction) or a similar qualification in building surveying. You'll be qualified with RICS, CIOB, RTPI, or have previous experience managing construction projects. A proven track record in delivering development or refurbishment schemes, along with strong project management skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage costs, quality, timescales, and risk, is essential. Well-developed skills in presentation, report writing, and IT are also necessary, as is a sound understanding of legal and commercial management.
