Hours
Full time, Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm. Flexible working arrangements available including full-time Assessment Centre or hybrid roles. Training period hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday, with other working patterns available after training (typically six months).

Salary
Starting salary £49,934 with opportunity to achieve a £2,000 salary uplift over the first 12 months based on development milestones. Further salary uplifts available from year 2 as you learn new specialist skills. Up to 10% quarterly discretionary bonus. 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays) with option to buy more.

About the Role
As a Functional Assessor, you will use your clinical expertise to carry out functional assessments of claimants face to face, via video and telephone, assessing their ability to undertake activities of daily living. You will ask focused questions, use active listening and critical reasoning skills to gather accurate information throughout the claimant assessment. You will produce high quality, structured clinical reports for submission to the DWP. Working alongside experienced clinical colleagues, you will ensure high-quality and clinically fair assessments for all claimants.

In this role, you will not make decisions or recommendations regarding claimant services and benefits but will use your clinical experience to gather accurate information for the DWP to make those decisions.

Experience
Minimum of 12 months post-registration clinical experience and active clinical practice within the last year. Pharmacists require a minimum of 18 months experience.

This role may not suit you if you are uncomfortable with technology, dislike writing detailed reports, prefer hands-on clinical care, are not seeking a new direction or retraining, dislike working with targets, or do not want to work on site part-time.

Qualifications
NMC-registered Adult Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD), HCPC-registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Paramedics, or GPhC-registered Pharmacists. Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills, ability to type, and confidence using computers are essential.
