About the Role
The General Manager will facilitate and control the standards of all support services supplied by ABM. Through competent leadership and management skills, you will develop an effective team consistently meeting or exceeding the service needs of the Client. Key responsibilities include performing investigations as requested by senior management, maintaining quality management systems, and carrying out monthly quality assurance checks.

Main duties include financial management such as meeting budgetary targets, monitoring profit and loss, strategic planning, and controlling expenditure and income. You will ensure forecasts are achieved, implement price adjustments when necessary, and manage margin improvements through productivity. You will also be responsible for authorising wage sheets and materials requisitions within budget and company guidelines.

Administrative duties involve responding to customer queries, setting work targets for lower management, and attending internal and customer meetings monthly. You will oversee recruitment, selection, and industrial relations for managerial and supervisory staff, ensuring employment records are current, staff appraisals are conducted, and training is provided. You will enforce company disciplinary, grievance, and health and safety procedures to maintain compliance and a safe working environment.

In addition, you will drive business development by expanding the revenue base, retaining profitable trade, and supporting sales activities including prospecting, surveying, estimating, and securing new contracts.
