About the Role
At Gardiner & Theobald, Project Managers play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of construction and infrastructure projects. They coordinate project teams, manage programmes, facilitate effective communication and help guide projects from inception through to completion. Project Managers work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with client objectives. Effective stakeholder management, communication and risk management are central to the role.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will spend 2 to 2.5 years working towards Chartered membership of RICS while gaining valuable work experience. The role is varied and the experience gained will depend on the team and sector you work in. You will assist your line manager with daily tasks, working with autonomy while knowing when to seek guidance to ensure the best outcomes. You will build a solid knowledge base of your role, the firm and the industry, and how they all fit together.

Typical responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of project programmes and monitoring key deadlines and milestones; recording minutes and actions from project meetings; supporting analysis of project data and performance; providing updates to clients and maintaining regular communication; maintaining accurate project documentation; assisting with contract documentation; attending project meetings and site visits; supporting Project Managers in delivering project objectives; preparing performance and progress reports; supporting data collection and analysis; building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders; assisting with action plans to manage time, resources and processes effectively; supporting project delivery to ensure successful and timely completion; liaising with Project Managers to maintain project programmes and effectiveness; monitoring project progress and performance; and coordinating project close-out activities.
