The Group Accountant role sits within the Group Finance team, responsible for Group financial reporting and analysis, treasury and cash flow management, consolidation of the Group’s results, and leading the annual financial audit and production of group financial statements. The team works alongside the wider Finance team in London.

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will take ownership of key month end processes for revenue and cost, allocating these accurately to brands in line with the reporting timetable. A significant focus will be on balance sheet control, delivering timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations. You will also play a key role in Treasury activities, support the Group’s year end audit and liaise with external auditors.

The role requires a self-motivated and organised individual who takes ownership of their tasks and quickly develops an in-depth understanding of Immediate Media’s business. You will build strong working relationships across the finance team, resolve queries swiftly and communicate information clearly and accurately.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing circulation and subscription revenue postings and direct cost allocations at month end, including all associated monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed asset registers, including monthly depreciation, amortisation, additions and disposal journals
- Supporting timely resolution of audit queries across P&L and balance sheet areas
- Providing ad hoc analysis, projects and other support for the Group Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller
- Opportunity to expand responsibilities across Group Finance over time

Experience
- ACCA or CIMA part qualified accountant
- Previous experience in a similar role or commercial environment
- Solid understanding of basic accounting concepts, systems and processes
- Experience working to timetables and strict procedures
- Demonstrable attention to detail with a methodology to ensure high accuracy
- Experience and understanding of financial systems/software, with strong Excel skills
- Commitment to continual process improvements in a complex reporting structure
- Ability to respond flexibly to changing operational needs
- Experience using Access Dimensions is beneficial but not essential
- Media industry background is advantageous but not required
