About the Role
Burberry is seeking a Senior Accountant, Group Financial Reporting to join the team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute during a period of significant reporting and technical accounting activity. You will support the delivery of accurate, compliant, and timely reporting across the Group, playing a key role in statutory reporting, technical accounting, month-end activities, and business-critical projects. The role offers broad exposure to Group reporting processes, external audit engagement, and evolving accounting standards within a global listed luxury business. Key responsibilities include supporting the assessment and adoption of IFRS 18, preparing quarterly IFRS 16 discount rate analysis, providing technical accounting support, managing interim and year-end statutory reporting, coordinating audit processes, reviewing regional reporting submissions, preparing note disclosures and audit committee papers, managing regional confirmations, assisting with UK statutory accounts, supporting month-end reporting activities, maintaining accounting records within SAP, preparing technical accounting papers and board packs, and contributing to wider projects and regulatory reporting requirements.
Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
- Post-qualification experience at assistant manager, manager or equivalent level within industry or practice
- Strong understanding of IFRS and UK statutory reporting requirements for listed groups
- Experience preparing or reviewing statutory financial statements and supporting external audit processes
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders including Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Rewards, Shared Services and regional finance teams
- Knowledge of SAP, Group consolidation systems or similar reporting platforms advantageous
- Retail or consumer-facing industry experience beneficial but not essential
