About the Role
As a Hairdressing & Barbering Tutor, you will make a powerful contribution to learners across Westminster. Working alongside Course Leaders and a Technician, you will provide hands-on, expert teaching to learners enrolled with the Westminster Adult Education Service. Your role is varied and dynamic, including preparing course outlines and lesson plans, coordinating resources and materials, and delivering face-to-face teaching sessions. You will monitor attendance, punctuality and behaviour, offering support and guidance to help learners develop their skills. Additionally, you will assess and provide feedback on learners’ work, conducting one-to-ones and tutorials to maximise opportunities, progression and development. This role is integral to Westminster City Council’s commitment to helping diverse communities achieve their potential and transform their lives.
Experience
An established professional with experience in hairdressing and barbering, you will have delivered training or teaching in a face-to-face environment and used online e-portfolio systems for assessing and quality assessing work.

Qualifications
- Women’s Hairdressing and Men’s Barbering Level 3 or above
- Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer (IAQ)
- Teaching qualification (PTLLS minimum)
