Location
Ealing, based at Perceval House (Ealing Broadway) with some remote working. On site presence is expected a minimum of at least 2 days per week, with additional days as required. Occasional travel within the borough to Ealing communities is also required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Passenger Transport to lead and be responsible for the delivery of a busy frontline All Age Travel Service. This service arranges and oversees travel assistance for children, young people, and adults with additional needs and disabilities. It also manages the commissioning of direct transport provision, independent travel training, and personal budgets.
This high-profile leadership and management role is a specialist position within Children’s Services requiring a resilient, experienced transport manager with extensive experience and high-level skills in commissioning and procurement of specialist transport services.
The successful candidate will engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from children and their families to senior leaders and partners, ensuring a passenger-focused transport service that is safe, efficient, effective, and delivers best value. The role demands evidence-based commissioning and procurement to increase quality and reduce inequality.

Experience
- Managing transport services
- Commissioning and procuring transport services, ideally with strong knowledge of SEN transport, statutory processes, and best practice
- Route planning
- Managing large budgets
- Building effective relationships with families, schools, and multi-agency partners
- Evidence-based commissioning and procurement
