About the Role
This is a non-operational instructional role within HMP North Sea Camp. The post holder will supervise and teach prisoners in a specialist woodwork workshop, helping them gain nationally recognised qualifications and improve their employment prospects upon release, contributing to reduced reoffending. The role involves maintaining high standards of service delivery, security, and control at all times. The jobholder will provide training on health and safety, machinery use, and workshop procedures, tailoring learning to individual prisoner needs. Responsibilities include managing work schedules, assessing prisoner skills, maintaining discipline, quality assurance, and contributing to prisoner reports and regime monitoring. Additional duties include waste management, liaising with contractors, promoting recycling, and participating in health and safety risk assessments. The role supports a hybrid working arrangement where business needs allow, with work based primarily in the UK.
Experience
- Relevant work experience in a production environment is essential
- Preferably some supervisory experience
- Experience using industrial standard machinery and equipment

Qualifications
- Currently hold or be prepared to work towards Level 3 or equivalent qualification in woodwork-related production
- Ability to read, understand, and work from technical drawings
- Basic IT skills, maths, and English
