Housing Lead
Location
Havering, close to Harold Wood Elizabeth Line station. Please note this service does not have step free access.
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 17:00. Flexibility may be required depending on service needs.
Salary
£30,400 per annum
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new community-based service supporting offenders as they are released from prison. As Housing Lead, you will play a key role in supporting residents with their long-term housing needs by acting as a bridge between landlords, housing associations, local authorities, private landlords, wider Social Interest Group services, and residents. You will ensure tailored move-on plans are in place that meet individual needs, helping residents access the right resources and tools to reintegrate into the community and rebuild relationships to support their rehabilitation.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as main point of contact between housing stakeholders and residents
- Supporting the wider team with residents’ long-term needs
- Providing specialist support and training to the team on policies, procedures, and government changes
- Producing regular reports and updates
- Managing current resident tenancies and ensuring timely rent payments
- Supporting property and building management including scheduling repairs
Experience
- Previous experience coordinating or delivering activities and interventions with people from diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with people with complex needs or a good understanding of the sector
- Knowledge of risk management and risk assessment
- Understanding of license conditions and public protection
- Knowledge of tenancy management and ability to share this knowledge with team members and residents

You will have a passion for supporting positive change and rehabilitation, with a strong commitment to helping people reintegrate into society. You should have a general understanding of the criminal justice system and the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, are essential, along with the ability to build effective relationships and negotiate positive outcomes. You should be proactive in decision-making and flexible in your working patterns to meet the needs of the service and residents.
