Night Mental Health Recovery Worker
Location
Based in Enfield (Nearest overground Enfield Town, Bus Routes available). Please note there is no step free access at this service.
Hours
Average 37.5 hours per week, ranging from 32 to 43 depending on the rota. Night shifts Monday to Sunday between 20:30 - 8:00. Flexibility may be required as per service needs, including some bank holiday shifts under usual work patterns.
Salary
£27,000 per annum
About the Role
We are seeking a Night Recovery Worker to join our 24/7 supported accommodation service in Enfield. The service offers 21 beds to adults with complex mental health needs. You will be part of a team including a Service Manager, Deputy Service Manager, a day team of 10, and a night team of 4. Each night shift has a minimum of two staff members present. Our aim is to promote independence and equip residents with the tools to live independently within the community.
In this role, you will support residents on their recovery, reablement, and rehabilitation journey. You will assist individuals transitioning from complex care or acute mental health services to a structured rehabilitation setting. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide tailored, person-centred, and trauma-informed support to help residents overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and support medication compliance, making a meaningful difference every day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing tailored support to residents to help achieve personal goals and outcomes
- Delivering all aspects of the service efficiently and consistently, including welfare checks, support sessions, safeguarding monitoring, risk assessments, and participation in training and development
- Designing and participating in service-led activities such as games nights, movie nights, cooking, to foster independence and relationship building
- Supporting residents with medication adherence
- Ensuring service responsibilities and requirements are effectively carried out
- Initiating appropriate interventions to prevent crises or other risks
- Recognising signs of deteriorating mental or physical health and escalating as required according to procedures
Experience
Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs is desirable but not mandatory. A resilient and compassionate approach is essential.

You should be able to stay proactive during quieter hours, build rapport and trust with residents, and contribute to a smooth running service. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are key. Additional skills include:
- Ability to use IT systems for case notes, emails, and other software
- Flexibility to respond to the needs of the communal service and residents
- Understanding of housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in mental health or social care are advantageous but not essential. Commitment to ongoing training and development is expected.
