Salary
£60,000 (Full Time Equivalent) - Equivalent to NHS Band 8A

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Practitioner Psychologist with a clinical psychology background to join our team in Croydon. The service operates across four sites, providing low to high support forensic mental health services for residents with forensic mental health needs, complex conditions, and dual diagnosis. In this role, you will lead the delivery of evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions aimed at rehabilitation and reintegration of residents into the community. This is a creative and impactful role working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and wider teams to support staff and residents, ensuring a streamlined and psychologically informed service.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to the team to help residents overcome personal challenges and create a supportive environment
- Advise on best practices and enhance team skills to deliver high-quality care and support
- Provide clinical supervision to the team
- Conduct highly specialised psychological assessments for residents with mental health and complex needs
- Exercise full clinical responsibility for residents' psychological care as a care coordinator within a multidisciplinary team
- Formulate and implement therapy plans and manage mental health assessments based on appropriate frameworks and evidence-based practices

Requirements

Experience
- Registered Practitioner Psychologist with HCPC registration (essential)
- Post-graduate doctoral level training including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, multiple psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology
- Previous experience as a qualified clinical and/or forensic psychologist working with people with complex backgrounds and needs
- Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision
- Understanding of criminology, psychology, behavioural patterns, and their relation to behaviour and engagement
- Experience working within forensic mental health or related sectors

Qualifications
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (essential)
