Hours
22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 17:00. Some flexibility may be required to meet service needs. Working days can be agreed upon during the interview process.
Salary
£60,000 (Full Time Equivalent) - Equivalent to NHS Band 8A
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Practitioner Psychologist with a clinical psychology background to join our Croydon team. The service provides psychologically informed forensic mental health support across four sites, catering to residents with complex conditions, dual diagnosis, and forensic mental health needs. You will lead the delivery of evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions focused on rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. This role is creative, evolving, and impactful, working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and multidisciplinary teams to support staff and residents, ensuring a streamlined and psychologically informed service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to the team to help residents overcome personal challenges and foster a supportive environment
- Advise on best practices and enhance team skills to deliver high-quality care
- Provide clinical supervision to the team
- Conduct specialised psychological assessments for residents with mental health and complex needs
- Exercise full clinical responsibility as a care coordinator within a multidisciplinary team
- Formulate and implement therapy plans based on appropriate frameworks and evidence-based practices

Experience
- Registered Practitioner Psychologist with HCPC registration (essential)
- Post-graduate doctoral level training including clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, models of psychopathology, and lifespan developmental psychology
- Experience as a qualified clinical and/or forensic psychologist working with people with complex needs
- Understanding of the forensic mental health sector
- Ability to teach, train, consult, and provide clinical supervision
- Knowledge of criminology, psychology, behavioural patterns, and their impact on engagement
- Experience applying safeguarding protocols
