About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and security-focused professional to join our Operational Capability (OC) Team within the Department for Work and Pensions' Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC). In this role, you will support the detection and investigation of security incidents across the organisation using advanced monitoring tools and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems. Your primary focus will be identifying indicators of compromise and malicious activity, conducting in-depth analysis of system alerts and logs, and ensuring swift, effective responses to emerging risks.

You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate responses, escalate incidents when necessary, and provide clear, actionable intelligence to support investigations. Additionally, you will oversee local security officers, manage security assets, contribute to the development of monitoring capabilities, and support strategic workforce planning activities.

This role requires discretion, decisiveness, and the ability to operate in high-assurance environments. The successful candidate must be a British national and will be subject to Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience in cyber security monitoring and incident response.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and logs.
- Proficiency in using SIEM tools and other security technologies.
- Experience working in government or regulated environments is desirable.
- Familiarity with confidential material handling and secure asset management is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly to competing demands.

Qualifications
