About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join JPMorganChase's dynamic EMEA Natural Resources Investment Banking team. The team is responsible for originating and executing public and private M&A and capital markets transactions involving corporate clients and financial sponsors across the broader natural resources sector. With a large network of relationships spanning the EMEA region and all subsectors, the team plays a pivotal role in the market.

As an Associate, you will maintain strategic dialogue with key clients and be accountable for executing M&A and capital markets transactions. You will implement the execution function by collaborating with junior bankers and supporting senior bankers. The role offers extensive opportunities to partner with colleagues across countries and product teams including M&A, ECM, and DCM.

Key responsibilities include daily interaction with senior deal team members and client management to execute transactions, supporting origination and client engagement by preparing marketing pitches and presentations, and performing detailed valuation analyses such as DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and LBO analyses. You will coordinate with teams across leveraged finance, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, ratings, and credit, while staying informed of key market developments and client dynamics. Additionally, you will provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to analysts.

Requirements

Experience
Proven relevant work experience in Investment Banking, preferably within the Energy, Power, Renewables, or Mining sectors.

About you
Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, energetic, and decisive with a strong sense of integrity. Exceptional financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills. Excellent technology proficiency, especially in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn new software applications. Highly motivated, adaptable, able to multi-task and manage projects independently. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate concepts clearly and defend their validity. Comfortable interacting professionally and maturely with clients and colleagues. Additional European language skills are a plus.

This role involves regulated activities; therefore, the successful candidate must meet regulatory requirements related to fitness, propriety, knowledge, and competence as assessed by the firm and, where appropriate, gain approval from relevant regulatory authorities.
