Description
As a Portfolio Analyst you’ll act as the lead advisor for budget holders, sponsors, programme managers, and project managers, providing guidance, insight, and analysis to enhance their ability to manage capital budgets. You will also be the primary liaison for Finance teams, ensuring that capital portfolios are accurately forecasted, managed effectively, and aligned with financial depreciation and fixed asset requirements. With a particular focus on implementing and managing a capital investment portfolio control framework, improving expenditure tracking mechanisms to support better decision-making. You will drive improvements in portfolio estimation, resource allocation, cost estimation, and phasing, ensuring that financial forecasts align with delivery expectations. Additionally, you will work closely with project teams to enhance budgetary controls and financial reporting, offering clear insights into financial performance You’ll need to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week and the remaining time you’ll be able to work remotely. Your role covers supporting senior IT and Workplace leadership teams in business planning and capital investment forecasting, owning expenditure tracking documentation and refining reporting processes. You will be involved in evaluating programme and project cost management, recommending remedial actions where necessary, and ensuring best-practice budget management and cost tracking. A significant part of your responsibilities will also include maintaining and updating Power BI Dashboards to provide real-time expenditure insights. Your background should include experience in budgetary management of capital change portfolios, particularly within IT programmes and projects. You will have a proven track record of working collaboratively with finance teams and advising senior stakeholders. Strong cost modelling, forecasting, and tracking skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, are required. A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for customer service and stakeholder engagement will be highly valued.
