About the Role
The successful candidate will join the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) as an Engineer in the Post Trade team, working closely with the Director of Technical Delivery Solution and Delivery. This role involves building a complex, ground-up cloud-based critical market infrastructure service as part of a bold new venture for LSEG. You will be expected to deliver engineering excellence with strong logical and technical skills, a can-do attitude, and a collaborative mindset. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in forming and growing a new business within a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider.

Key responsibilities include a strong focus on engineering excellence and coding, adopting an open and hands-on approach to problem-solving and delivery. You will engage deeply in technical design and implementation to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with industry standards. Active contribution across all stages of the product engineering lifecycle—solutioning, design, coding, and testing—is expected, alongside promoting collaboration and transparency within the team to drive high-quality outcomes.

Experience
- Strong experience with event-driven microservices architecture, including microservices design, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and event-driven architecture principles.
- Proficient with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Skilled in event-driven patterns and working knowledge of event/message brokers like Kafka and MQ.
- Expertise in building and maintaining DevOps pipelines, ideally with GitLab.
- Proficient in shift-left testing using JUnit, Cucumber, Gherkin, PACT, and Test Containers.
- Advanced Java skills including Object-Oriented Programming, Java 17+ features, Spring Boot, RESTful services, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Spring REST MVC.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and multi-threading.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases such as Postgres and familiarity with database version control tools like Flyway and Liquibase.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including services like AWS Aurora, MSK, S3, and IAM.
- Understanding of blockchain fundamentals including consensus mechanisms, smart contracts, interoperability protocols, cross-chain communication, bridging technologies, and security considerations.
- Experience integrating blockchain solutions with enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding and commitment to agile working methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
- Proven collaboration in scaled agile environments and active participation in sprint ceremonies.

Qualifications
- Senior Associate level experience or equivalent in software engineering.
- Proven track record in Java development and blockchain integration.
- Experience working within financial services or market infrastructure environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
