About the Role
The successful candidate will join the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) as an Engineer in the Post Trade team, working closely with the Director of Technical Delivery Solution and Delivery. You will be part of a team building a complex, ground-up cloud-based critical market infrastructure service in a bold new venture for LSEG. This role requires pride in delivering engineering excellence, strong logical and technical skills, a can-do attitude, and a collaborative mindset. You will play a critical role in forming and growing a new business by engaging deeply in technical design and implementation to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with industry standards.

Key responsibilities include adopting an open and hands-on approach to problem-solving and delivery, actively contributing to all stages of the product engineering life cycle—solutioning, design, coding, and testing—while promoting collaboration and transparency within the team. You will demonstrate ownership and pride in your work, proactively taking on new responsibilities aligned with product engineering needs. Embracing LSEG engineering principles, you will dive deep technically to build with purpose and foster excellence within the team through open collaboration. Requirements

Experience
- Strong experience with event-driven microservices architecture and microservices design, including pitfalls and best practices
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and event-driven architecture principles
- Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
- Skilled in event-driven patterns for efficient and robust communication
- Expertise in building and maintaining DevOps pipelines, ideally with GitLab
- Proficient in shift-left testing using tools like JUnit, Cucumber, Gherkin, PACT, and Test Containers
- Working knowledge of event/message brokers such as Kafka and MQ
- Advanced Java skills including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Java 17+ features, and Spring Boot
- Skilled in developing RESTful services, including REST design principles, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Spring REST MVC
- Hands-on experience with data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and multi-threading
- Strong SQL knowledge with experience in relational databases such as Postgres
- Working knowledge of object storage solutions like AWS S3
- Familiarity with database version control tools such as Flyway and Liquibase
- Experience working with major public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including AWS Aurora, MSK, S3, and IAM
- Basic understanding of cloud networking concepts
- Understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including consensus mechanisms and smart contracts
- Knowledge of interoperability protocols and integrating blockchain solutions with enterprise systems
- Familiarity with cross-chain communication and bridging technologies
- Awareness of security considerations in blockchain integration such as cryptographic standards and key management
- Knowledge of token standards and transaction lifecycle
- Strong understanding and commitment to agile working methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
- Proven collaboration with cross-functional teams in scaled agile environments
