Part Time - 29 hours per week, including Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, plus all bank holidays.
Salary
£37,068 - £38,058 pro rata
About the Role
The Kennel Assistant post is a unique and challenging role where you will be responsible for kennel and cattery duties as part of a dedicated team. Your responsibilities will include investigating complaints regarding animals and dangerous dogs, impounding stray dogs, transporting dogs and other animals, maintaining clear and accurate records, and working onsite in all weather conditions. You will also be required to cover the service over weekends and bank holidays, with occasional weekdays, and may need to undertake some lone working duties.
Experience
Experience handling dogs and cats in a kennel/cattery environment, ideally with experience of handling nervous and aggressive animals. Experience in dealing with members of the public and maintaining records while managing aggressive interactions.
About you
You must hold a valid full manual UK Driving Licence and be willing to undertake CPD Training to stay updated on legislative changes. A commitment to working in a team and covering services throughout the year is essential.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required, but relevant experience in animal handling is essential.
