About the Role
We are seeking a Highway Safety Inspector with demonstrable experience working in a busy Highways, Sustainable Transport and Parking environment. You will have excellent technical and professional knowledge of the service area and experience engaging with contractors, Elected Members, residents, and other external stakeholders. This frontline role involves inspecting the highway at regular intervals according to agreed schedules and arranging for the rectification of defects. You will be required to use your own car for work purposes, so a valid driving licence is essential. This is an important role contributing to the safety and maintenance of the borough’s highways.

Experience
At least 12 months’ experience undertaking highways or street works inspections. Ideally, you will have knowledge of highway construction, maintenance or management, including construction materials, techniques, and specifications.

About you
Professional, reliable, and able to work independently. You must have excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with contractors, elected officials, residents, and other stakeholders. A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required for this role.

Qualifications
You should be suitably qualified for this role. Specific qualifications are not detailed but relevant technical or professional certifications in highways or related fields will be advantageous.
