About the Role
This is an opportunity to join Clifford Chance's global Knowledge and Training (K&T) function as a Knowledge Lawyer supporting the London Tax team. Clifford Chance is one of the world's leading law firms, committed to client service excellence and innovation. The K&T function drives quality, consistency, efficiency, and innovation across the firm by producing better-trained fee earners supported by gold-standard knowledge resources and leveraging AI tools to create competitive advantage.
In this role, you will ensure that fee earners have immediate access to relevant legal knowledge and knowhow, focusing on UK and international tax developments relevant to the London Tax team. You will be the primary resource for legislative updates, responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering training, maintaining templates, and producing client briefings and thought leadership.
You will collaborate closely with fee earners to collate, analyse, and share legislative, regulatory, transaction, and advisory insights within the Tax team and other global product groups. While your expertise will focus on London Tax matters, you will support and coordinate with colleagues across the firm’s international network to ensure knowledge assets are effectively captured and utilised globally.
Using technology and AI tools, you will manage your work efficiently and promote the adoption of legal technology by fee earners, supporting the delivery of more efficient, consistent, and client-focused legal services.
You will work primarily with partners and fee earners in the London Tax team and collaborate with Knowledge Lawyers, information specialists, Thought Leadership, Business Development, Marketing, Communications, PR, Transformation, and Legal Technology Advisors to deliver high-quality client service and innovation projects.
Experience
You will be a mid to senior level lawyer or existing Knowledge Lawyer (PSL) with significant experience in UK tax matters. Experience or strong interest in knowledge management and legal training is important, though you do not need to be a current Knowledge Lawyer. Prior experience with legal technology, AI, and innovation is beneficial.
About you
You have an excellent academic background, strong research and drafting skills, attention to detail, and robust organisational abilities. You are proactive, committed to delivering first-class service, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills. You demonstrate high commercial awareness and keep abreast of legal developments. You can engage effectively with key stakeholders including partners, clients, and industry leaders.
Qualifications
You should hold relevant legal qualifications and have a strong interest in engaging with legal technology and innovation. A track record of supporting knowledge sharing, training, and thought leadership activities is desirable.
