Our ACCESS Development Programme is a bespoke two-year initiative designed to provide fair access to the legal profession for students from diverse backgrounds. This pioneering programme consists of ten components focused on personal and professional development, culminating in the opportunity to apply for our SPARK programme, which may lead to a Training Contract. The programme includes a launch event, a combination of virtual and in-person learning, placements with various companies, executive coaching, group sessions, 1:1 support, and networking opportunities.

Throughout the programme, you will gain insights into the legal sector, develop core business skills, and build a professional network with mentors, tutors, lawyers, and the Early Talent Acquisition Team. Support with accommodation and travel expenses is provided where applicable.

Experience
No specific legal experience is required prior to applying. We look for attributes such as business awareness, problem-solving skills, commercial insight, and the ability to identify legal and business issues.

Qualifications
To apply, you must be in Year 12 (England and Wales), S5 (Scotland), or Lower Sixth (Northern Ireland) and meet two or more of the following criteria:
- Attending a state-funded, non fee-paying school/college since age 11
- No parent or guardian attended university
- Currently or previously in receipt of free school meals, Pupil Premium, Education Maintenance Allowance, or a 16 to 19 Bursary
- Attending a school or college with below average A-level or Higher point scores and/or low progression to higher education
- Have been or currently in local authority care for three months or longer
- Are or have been a full-time or part-time carer
- Came to the UK as a refugee or asylum seeker
- At age 14, the main household earner’s occupation is considered lower socioeconomic group

Note: Applicants who meet the local authority care criterion do not need to meet any other criteria.
