About the Role
As a Learning and Development Advisor, you will play a vital role within the Adult Social Care department, supporting continuous professional development to enable our people to create extraordinary stories of lives changed for the better. You will embed best practice to benefit Westminster residents and help ensure that all staff feel confident and supported to bring their whole selves to work.
You will be a key member of a supportive team managed by the Principal Social Worker, working alongside Learning Advisors and the Continuous Professional Development Officer. The role offers agile and flexible working arrangements.
Your responsibilities will include designing, coordinating, and delivering learning programmes, providing business and administrative support, and personally supporting key initiatives and projects. You will identify learning and development needs within Adult Social Care, translate these into delivery plans, and assist in developing, commissioning, delivering, or facilitating events and interventions.
Additionally, you will review the team’s work, lead on completing and submitting data sets and statutory returns, and report on compliance to ensure the quality of Adult Social Care learning and development matches the passion of the team.
This role is permanent and subject to a standard DBS check. Please note the closing date for applications is 28 August 2026, with interviews scheduled for 17 and 18 September 2026.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience coordinating and planning events or managing projects, as well as designing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating learning and development programmes. Experience within a social care setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of commissioning and procurement is preferred.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in learning and development or related fields are expected. A commitment to continuous professional development and the ability to work flexibly within a dynamic team environment are essential.
