Learning Disability Caseworker
Location
London Arena, London. This role can be based anywhere in England with travel to events, casework venues, and occasionally to the Peterborough office.

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

About the Role
Mencap is recruiting a Learning Disability Caseworker (LDC) to provide end-to-end advice casework on welfare benefits, housing, health, and community care for people with a learning disability, their families, carers, and professionals supporting them. The role involves managing a live caseload and creating, reviewing, and updating advice content on the Mencap website using Drupal. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate advice casework records and keeping the Information and Advice Hub content up to date. This fixed-term contract runs until September 2027. Experience
- Experience in giving accessible advice on complex cases
- Experience working in an outcomes and impact focused advice service
- Experience of working with CRM systems and maintaining clear advice records
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Excellent IT skills including Drupal and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to identify high-risk cases and raise safeguarding alerts
- Well-developed listening and diagnostic skills
- In-depth knowledge of social care and the welfare benefits system
About you
Enthusiastic and organised with the ability to manage a varied advice caseload. You are committed to delivering high-quality advice and making a positive impact on individuals and families. The ability to communicate clearly in another language is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in giving advice or an equivalent relevant qualification in a specific advice area.
