About the Role
Clifford Chance is one of the largest international law firms in the world, with over 30 offices globally. We pride ourselves on delivering the highest-quality legal advice by combining global standards with deep local expertise. Our inclusive, friendly, and team-based culture fosters rewarding and stimulating careers full of opportunities to learn, thrive, and grow.
We have an established market-leading Legal Project Management (LPM) team that plays a critical role in the firm’s growth strategy. As a Legal Project Manager, you will be embedded within priority Client relationship teams and Global Product Groups (GPGs), working on complex legal matters and deals. You will manage workstreams, monitor resourcing, oversee budgets, and integrate innovative solutions into large-scale projects.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including lawyers, partners, legal tech advisors, business development professionals, and others to deliver excellent legal advice and successfully conclude matters. You will build strong relationships with Practice Area Leaders, GPG Performance Directors, and other internal stakeholders, while also working closely with colleagues across our global network.
Your responsibilities will include preparing project initiation documentation, tracking progress, identifying and mitigating risks, managing budgets, and advising on legal technology tools to support efficient project delivery. You will influence and support colleagues at all levels to adapt ways of working and deliver outstanding project management on some of the firm’s most complex matters.
This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in the legal sector, shaping a rapidly evolving area of law that is essential to Clifford Chance’s strategy. You will also represent the firm positively when working directly with clients, including from client site locations.
Experience
You will have a background in either (i) project management or legal operations, ideally within professional services or a complex matrix environment, or (ii) legal experience as a lawyer with matter management exposure. Experience collaborating and influencing across diverse teams is essential.
A project management qualification or industry-recognised certification is desirable but not essential, as support for gaining these qualifications is provided.
About you
You are a collaborative and influential professional with strong internal networking skills. You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders and can adapt your communication style to different audiences. You have a logical and analytical approach to problem-solving and are proactive in identifying and implementing pragmatic solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and are motivated to drive innovation in legal project management.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are mandatory, but relevant project management certifications are advantageous. A willingness to continuously develop your skills through formal training, coaching, and on-the-job learning is expected.
