About the Role
The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London, well-connected by public transport. Newham Libraries is an ambitious service that plays a pivotal role in improving the quality of life for our residents. Library Assistants carry out essential tasks including assisting customers with transactions, shelving books, providing digital assistance, and supporting events. Candidates should have excellent customer care skills, enjoy helping people, and be passionate about the role of libraries in providing opportunities for residents.

Experience
Libraries or similar customer-focused experience is preferred. Experience in running activities is advantageous.

About you
Genuine passion for reading and talking about books, enjoyment of STEM and digital engagement, and a good level of literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications required, but relevant experience and a positive attitude are essential.
