About the Role
West London College is seeking three dedicated and practical Maintenance Officers to join our Estates and Facilities department. You will support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the College across multiple sites. The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining College buildings, facilities, grounds, equipment, and communal areas to a high standard.

Working closely with the Facilities Supervisor and the wider Estates team, your responsibilities will include carrying out general repairs, routine inspections, compliance checks, portering, and site support. You will respond professionally to maintenance issues and incidents, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff, learners, contractors, and visitors.

Key duties include:
- General repairs and maintenance to fixtures, fittings, furniture, and equipment using hand and power tools safely
- Minor redecoration and caretaking duties
- Regular checks of buildings, grounds, toilets, and communal areas to ensure safety and operational standards
- Routine compliance checks including fire alarms, water systems, and emergency lighting with accurate record keeping
- Identifying and reporting hazards, defects, and maintenance issues promptly
- Receiving and transporting deliveries, equipment, and materials between College sites
- Supporting waste and recycling clearance
- Monitoring and requesting replenishment of consumable stock
- Assisting in incident, emergency, and business continuity responses
- Collaborating with Security, cleaning contractors, and Estates team to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Maintaining accurate facilities, asset, and property records
- Undertaking driving duties between sites and maintaining College vehicles
- Promoting and adhering to health and safety policies and procedures
- Other duties commensurate with the role

Experience
Practical experience in maintenance, repairs, or a similar role is desirable. Ability to safely use hand and power tools is essential. Experience in compliance checks and caretaking duties is advantageous.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or training in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field are desirable but not essential. You must be willing to undertake mandatory safeguarding training and comply with all College policies. A valid driving licence is required to undertake driving duties between College sites.
