Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm. Standby and overtime opportunities available, with potential to increase earnings by £8,000 - £10,000 upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £39,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. Additional standby rota payments and overtime can increase earning potential by up to £8,000 - £10,000 per annum after training.

About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at Crossness Sewage Treatment Works. You will ensure all equipment at the waste treatment site is safe and running efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance. Your responsibilities will include investigating plant failures, diagnosing complex faults, and performing repairs promptly to avoid process interruptions. You will provide technical advice, support, and training to technical trainees as required.
Equipment you will work on includes motors, gearboxes, screw and chain conveyors, centrifuges, various pumps, control gear, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable equipment, chemical handling, and dosing systems. You will also complete statutory checks and always comply with Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
All necessary PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.

Experience
Relevant experience within mechanical fitting or industry is required. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial. Experience working in confined spaces is beneficial, with successful completion of appropriate training required.

About you
Physically fit to work in confined spaces and capable of performing maintenance tasks efficiently. You must be safety conscious and able to work both independently and as part of a team. A valid driving licence is essential as a company vehicle and tools will be provided.

Qualifications
ONC/HNC in Engineering, NVQ, or City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required.
