About the Role
The main clinical responsibilities include performing routine Nuclear Medicine procedures independently, ensuring timely and accurate delivery with full regard to Health and Safety for self, staff, and patients. You will take responsibility for patient consent, identification, and clinical history taking prior to imaging in line with Trust and professional legislation. Adherence to all standard operating procedures, protocols, and guidelines is essential. The role requires acting as an operator under IR(ME)R regulations and operating all department hardware and software. You will undertake routine administration of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals, phlebotomy, and laboratory skills. Providing clear instructions and explanations of procedures to staff, patients, and relatives is key, as well as assisting in cardiac stress testing preparation. You will provide clinical information to patients while interpreting, negotiating, and adapting procedures as needed. Optimal use of supporting and immobilisation devices to achieve diagnostically accurate studies is expected. Ensuring all images are of the highest diagnostic quality and presented timely for reporting is critical. Additional duties include preparation and production of radiopharmaceuticals, assisting in Quality Assurance of equipment, and participating in waste monitoring, storage, and disposal.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and radiography is required, including operation under IR(ME)R regulations and handling diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals.

You communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and staff, adapting procedures as necessary to ensure diagnostic accuracy. Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiography are essential. Registration with the appropriate professional body and compliance with Trust and IR(ME)R legislation is required.
