About the Role
Lead a high performing Payroll Service within the Finance (Improvements, Systems and Transactions) Service at Tower Hamlets. Drive transformation and resilience while making a real difference in one of London’s most diverse and dynamic local authorities. You will report to the Head of Service for Strategic Finance and be at the forefront of culture change, good governance, and delivering value for money to the taxpayer. The role requires managing a high volume payroll operation with a focus on accuracy, innovation, customer service, and continuous improvement through technology and digital solutions. You will build resilient teams through effective succession planning, training, and knowledge sharing while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.

Requirements

Experience
- Significant experience managing high volume payroll operations in a local government setting
- Extensive experience running complex payroll services
- Experience leading and motivating teams through change
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and payroll legislation
- Recent knowledge of Resource Link platform is desirable
