About the Role
We are seeking a Physical Health Lead Nurse (RGN) to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Ealing. The hospital provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment offering personalised treatment for service users with eating disorders or personality disorders across two separate wards. Our team is dedicated to creating a cheerful atmosphere that supports recovery and personal transformation through a range of therapies including psychodynamic, family, occupational, art, drama, and complementary therapies. We strongly believe in patient-centred care, involving service users in shaping their treatment and all aspects of hospital life.
In this role, you will establish, lead, and coordinate evidence-based physical health initiatives across the service. You will monitor the physical health of all patients, including annual health checks, working closely with ward Doctors and Physical Health Lead Nurses. You will lead infection control practices in line with national clinical standards and provide health promotion and education programmes in collaboration with the Dietician and ward Physical Health Leads. You will coordinate physical health screening, including access to cervical screening for women, and ensure patients have access to primary care services such as dental and eye checks.
You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, company policies, and relevant local and national guidance related to physical health within mental health services. Additionally, you will contribute to national and clinical audits to maintain standards, ensure accurate recording of physical health information in MyPath and other data systems, and oversee the availability and safe use of medical equipment. You will educate staff on local protocols for medical devices and conduct audits to ensure compliance.
At Cygnet, we offer a supportive working environment with benefits including NHS and employee discount schemes, partial payment of NMC registration renewal, free meals, employee savings and cycle to work schemes, bespoke career pathways, company-paid life assurance, and access to a Smart Health Toolkit providing fitness programmes, nutrition consultations, and health checks.
