About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Practitioner Manager to join our community-based OPPD Case Management Team within Lambeth’s Adult Social Care service. As a registered Social Worker with Social Work England, you will bring solid local authority experience in Adult Social Care. You will manage and support a team of up to 8 social workers and social care assessors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice that motivates staff to perform at their best.
The role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality interventions for residents, their families, and carers, ensuring statutory assessments are assigned and completed within expected performance targets and quality standards. You will support staff with case management and professional development through regular supervision and appraisals.
The team provides a comprehensive, holistic social care service to vulnerable adults aged 18 and over, including those with physical disabilities, older persons, and complex safeguarding cases such as self-neglect, domestic abuse, financial abuse, hoarding, cuckooing, and modern slavery. The role also involves managing Court of Protection cases, mental capacity concerns, and complex care framework cases.

Experience
Proven experience as a registered Social Worker within Adult Social Care in a local authority setting. Demonstrable management and leadership skills with experience in delivering high-quality social care interventions. Experience supporting practitioners to implement and embed excellent practice.
Sound understanding of Care Act interventions, Strengths Based Practice, Mental Capacity Act, and Safeguarding Adults.
