About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting survivors of domestic abuse and helping them rebuild their lives in safety? We are recruiting a Temporary Accommodation Support Officer – Domestic Abuse to provide trauma-informed support to households in Temporary Accommodation who are at risk due to domestic abuse. Your role will focus on ensuring their safety, stability, and access to appropriate housing solutions while minimising repeat homelessness.
You will develop and deliver personalised safety plans, respond proactively to escalating risks, and ensure timely safeguarding interventions. Working collaboratively with specialist domestic abuse services, safeguarding teams, police, health practitioners, children’s services, and internal housing teams, you will coordinate effective case management. Your work will align with Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) principles, embedding high-quality domestic abuse responses across all areas.
This is a 10-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity with hybrid working arrangements. About you
You should be passionate about supporting survivors of domestic abuse, able to work collaboratively with multiple agencies, and committed to trauma-informed practice. Strong communication and case management skills are essential, alongside the ability to respond proactively to safeguarding concerns and escalating risks.
Qualifications
Specific qualifications are not mandatory; however, relevant experience or a willingness to develop knowledge in domestic abuse support, safeguarding, and housing is important. Successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and a Cifas check as part of safer recruitment practices.
