We are seeking a Principal or Associate Engineer to join our Liveable Places team. This senior role involves leading the technical delivery of flagship highways and public realm projects across London, shaping streets and places that are safer, greener and more inclusive.

This is a hands-on technical role balancing project management, design leadership, assurance and mentoring, while working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include leading multiple sustainable transport and public realm projects from early concept through to detailed design and on-site implementation; providing technical oversight and quality assurance; coordinating multi-disciplinary design packages including Lighting, Electrical, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation, Structures and Sustainable Drainage Systems; liaising with Principal Contractors during design development and construction; reviewing and approving designs and technical deliverables; ensuring compliance with standards and best practice; mentoring junior engineers and graduates; supporting framework opportunities, fee proposals and bid submissions; and identifying opportunities for repeat work and account growth.

The Liveable Places team works with a wide range of local authority and private clients across the UK to achieve place-making ambitions. The team delivers schemes including public realm, active travel, traffic engineering, road safety, parking, traffic signals and pedestrian/traffic modelling. Experience
- Delivering public realm, active travel or transport schemes in complex urban environments, particularly in London.
- Strong experience in UK highways and public realm detailed design.
- Confident working with standards such as MfS, DMRB, TSRGD and LTN guidance.
- Proven ability to manage project programmes, budgets, cost control and financial reporting across multiple live projects.
