About the Role
Informa Group’s Taylor & Francis is investing in digital transformation focused on academic researchers and institutions. The Principal Business Analyst will be a senior practitioner within the Taylor & Francis Business Architecture function, reporting to the Enterprise Business Architect. This role leads the largest and most complex cross-domain analysis initiatives, builds the T&F business architecture, and co-owns the standards, methodology, and capability of business analysis across the organisation.

The role requires influencing through expertise, leading ambiguous initiatives, coaching a diverse BA team, and maintaining high standards of analysis. You will manage stakeholder relationships, ensure coherence across domain boundaries, and contribute to business architecture artefacts. You will also jointly manage the BA practice, including methodology, competency frameworks, governance standards, and community of practice.

This is a strategic role requiring strong analytical skills, senior stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work across silos to achieve shared goals while fostering an inclusive and open environment.

Requirements

Experience
- Substantial track record of business analysis in complex, multi-domain organisations; publishing, content or platform business experience is advantageous.
- Proven experience leading large, complex or cross-domain analysis initiatives end-to-end, including coordinating multiple BAs.
- Experience setting BA standards and methodology in federated or distributed delivery environments.
- Direct experience working alongside enterprise or business architects on capability-driven analysis and design.
- Strong senior stakeholder engagement, including technology leadership and business sponsors.
- Coaching and development experience with junior or mid-career BAs without formal line management.
- Experience working with colleagues across multiple locations and time zones.

About you
- Comfortable influencing and raising standards through expertise rather than authority.
- Skilled at leading ambiguous initiatives and coordinating teams without direct management.
- Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, especially with senior business and engineering audiences.
- Patient and persistent in building business architecture and BA capability incrementally.
- Collaborative, fostering open environments where stakeholders feel involved and heard.
- Willing to challenge constructively and uphold BA practice standards.
- Exceptional analytical ability to frame complex problems and drive customer-focused decisions.

Qualifications
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
- Business analysis certification (e.g. BCS/ISEB, IIBA CBAP) is desirable but not essential.
- Right to work and live in the UK is required.
