About the Role
As a Principal Delivery Manager at HM Courts and Tribunals Service, you will be a key agile lead working nationally to drive agile transformations at an organisational level. You will collaborate with senior leaders, stakeholders, and third parties to embed agile approaches and ways of working, supporting the creation of self-organising, high-performing teams. With a strong background as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or similar role, you will focus on delivery while fostering continuous improvement within multidisciplinary teams.

You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end projects, owning service delivery for significant functions or products, and building delivery roadmaps in partnership with cross-functional product teams. Your role includes motivating teams, managing collaboration, identifying and overcoming obstacles, and prioritising work to ensure successful delivery of products and services.

Accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services, you will engage senior stakeholders with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will have extensive experience across product lifecycles and act as the main point of escalation, driving cultural and procedural change within digital delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example and demonstrate appropriate behaviours
- Manage conflict and foster a culture of constructive criticism
- Develop and use meaningful metrics to guide teams and identify improvement areas
- Build and maintain relationships with technical teams, Product Owners, senior stakeholders, management, and third-party contractors
- Manage complex team dynamics between internal and external stakeholders
- Own and iterate business cases for complex projects throughout their lifecycle
- Identify and apply the best agile and lean delivery methods, measuring and evaluating outcomes
- Support teams in managing and visualising outcomes, prioritising work, and delivering minimum viable products (MVP)
- Bridge communication between technical and business stakeholders
- Recognise appropriate deliverables and coordinate with agile delivery operations across the product lifecycle
- Influence stakeholders and manage relationships to facilitate business outcomes
- Apply digital understanding to identify and implement assisted digital solutions
- Manage complex commercial relationships with contracted suppliers to ensure value for money

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience working in a large digital organisation or demonstrable understanding of such environments
- Accountable for successful delivery of projects or workstreams
- Experience driving agile delivery and transformations with a solid coaching background
- Prior team management experience, including leading and supporting junior staff
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
- Skilled in deciding direction and delivery methodology
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience providing expert advice to senior colleagues
