We are seeking a Principal Monitoring Surveyor (Consultant or Senior Consultant) to join our Lenders & Investors Transaction Advisory team, specialising in data centre and mission-critical developments. In this role, you will support the delivery of development monitoring and technical due diligence commissions for lenders, investors, and funding stakeholders across the UK, Europe, and international markets.

This position offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in data centres while working on complex digital infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for delivering monitoring and due diligence commissions, reviewing project budgets, programmes, procurement strategies, contracts, and key documentation. You will identify and report risks related to cost, programme, planning, utilities, procurement, quality, and delivery, with a focus on data centre-specific risks such as power, cooling, MEP integration, commissioning, and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities include preparing monitoring reports, progress updates, and funding recommendations, undertaking site inspections, reviewing drawdown requests and cost reports, coordinating multidisciplinary technical inputs, and supporting client meetings, technical reviews, and business development activities. At senior levels, you will also support the delivery of smaller commissions or defined workstreams.

Experience
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
MRICS qualified, working towards MRICS, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Experience in development monitoring, technical due diligence, quantity surveying, cost consultancy, project management, or a related consultancy discipline.
Experience with data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial developments, or other complex MEP-led projects is advantageous.
Understanding of construction delivery, procurement routes, contracts, project controls, and development funding structures.
Ability to assess project information, identify risks, and produce concise written reports.
Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
