Teams within the Client Engineering and Advisory Services group include: Rolling Stock, Rail Planning & Operations, Rail Strategy & Feasibility, Digital Rail, and Client Engineering.
The Strategy and Feasibility team is where it all begins! We are a team of engineers, strategic planners and project managers, with experience across the rail industry. We think technically, commercially and operationally. We collaborate internally and externally to develop early-stage railway requirements into fundable projects.
Our work covers a broad range of early-stage development projects with public and private sector clients including: developing proposals for new stations and freight facilities, evaluating and quantifying the introduction of new passenger and freight rail services onto the network, and supporting clients with technical rail advice as they develop their own plans and strategies.
We are looking for consultants to join the Rail Strategy and Feasibility team. You will provide strategic rail advice to external and internal clients, often taking a central coordinating role in multi-disciplinary projects. You will be responsible for developing our rail-focused service offering in one of the following areas: light rail, freight, or local authorities.
You will plan, manage and deliver tasks contributing to large projects and may take responsibility for managing entire projects and bidding for new work. Engaging with clients and proactively participating in WSP UK and global communities will be key to your role. Building and using your network both externally and internally to solve problems and generate new work is expected.
Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all. Join our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
Experience
Extensive experience working in light rail, freight or within transport for local authorities. Understanding of legislative and funding processes related to rail operations and scheme development. Knowledge across rail areas such as operational planning, strategic planning, business case development and engineering feasibility.
About you

Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage tasks using a project management approach. Excellent stakeholder management and ability to lead project delivery teams.
