About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Coach to join our Independent Approved Premises (IAP) covering the day shift on a rolling rota. You will develop and engage with residents to produce tailored support plans that address their individual needs for successful rehabilitation and reintegration. Your role includes identifying their needs, goals, and skills, and supporting and motivating them to achieve their potential. The service maintains a strong focus on public protection and effective risk management.

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and participants at all times
Engaging with residents to ensure adherence to their license conditions, including planning activities to connect them with people, communities, and opportunities
Being a valued and reliable team member, completing handovers for night colleagues to ensure seamless service
Building trusting professional relationships with residents, supporting them to achieve goals and aspirations through tailored one-to-one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and wellbeing check-ins
Empowering residents to take control over their lives and meet personal goals

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with people from complex backgrounds including ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, or challenging behaviours is desirable. A good understanding of the sector is also valued.

About You
You will have a true passion for making a difference and contributing to safer communities. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be proactive, and demonstrate resilience to challenges. You will thrive working both independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable engaging with people who have diverse offending histories. Building trust and rapport with others, maintaining a positive outlook to support residents, and managing your own caseload with effective time management and initiative are essential. IT proficiency including basic Microsoft skills and the ability to learn new software programs is required. You should have an understanding and/or practical application of key legislation related to social care, housing, criminal justice, and mental health. Cultural awareness, self-awareness, and the ability to identify personal growth areas and accept feedback are important. Alignment with our values of Ambition, Empowerment, Inclusivity, and Transparency is expected.
