Description
ABOUT US Transforming lives through excellent education London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion are our driving principles and what make us so unique. We are distinctive, both in our eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for our historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that individuals should have the opportunity to transform their lives through the power of education. Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute to society, culture, public service and the economy in London, the UK and around the world. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT Research is fundamental to our vision, informing every aspect of London Met life and driving impact and change in London and beyond. Our research connects with a broad audience of users within academia and without: community and industry partners, our growing community of researchers, Research Centres, Groups and Units, our Empowering London strand and business engagement. ABOUT THE POST Based in our Research and Postgraduate Office (RPO), you will support delivery of our funding objectives, managing external funding activity and bids across our Academic Schools and supporting internal funding schemes. You will appraise the University's research community of the widest range of funding possibilities and support the management and compliance of efficient practices and processes, ensuring production of the highest quality bids and reporting. You will work with our research community, identifying opportunities for external funding by horizon-scanning and embedding a funding culture which enables our Academic Schools and Units of Assessment to further develop income generation and impactful knowledge exchange. You will develop and deliver an inclusive funding strategy, working with colleagues across the University to develop better systems and processes for bid collation, reporting and data collection, and support the timely submission of high-quality, high-impact bids. You will liaise with academic staff, professional services functions and RPO team members, including a Research and KE Impact Manager, responsible for our impact strategy and embedding a culture of impact across all research-related activity, and a Post-award Coordinator who supports all aspects post-award. You will report to the Associate Director of Research, Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise Operations, supporting the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange in the preparation of the University’s submissions to various exercises, including the Research Excellence Framework (REF), Knowledge Excellence Framework (KEF), HEIF and HE-BCIS reports, by maintaining up-to-date information on our research funding activity for internal and external reporting. ABOUT YOU You will enjoy a fast-paced environment and working in an ambitious team, have excellent attention to detail, knowledge of the evolving funding landscape and medium to long-term opportunities, a background in professional services, and work independently when necessary.
