About the Role
Are you experienced in governance, risk, and compliance, with a passion for driving operational excellence? As a Risk and Controls Manager (NHH), you will play a key role in ensuring effective governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and business resilience across our Non-Household market activities. Working closely with internal teams, senior stakeholders, and external partners, you will help protect business performance, strengthen control frameworks, and drive continuous improvement. This role is also known internally as Service Control Manager.
Your responsibilities will include providing oversight of governance, risk, compliance, and resilience activities across the Non-Household market. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure effective controls are in place, risks are managed appropriately, and regulatory obligations are met. You will establish and maintain delivery governance, including reporting into key committees, own and maintain the Retail Risk Register, lead reviews of local risk registers, and contribute to principal risk reporting and dashboards.
Additional duties include maintaining compliance with regulatory, contractual, and industry obligations, owning and developing Risk and Control Matrices (RACM), supporting internal and external audits and regulatory reviews, embedding control operating requirements, managing Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), supporting information governance, and developing, maintaining, and testing Business Continuity Plans to ensure service resilience.
You will build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and external partners, promoting a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen processes, controls, and service performance.
Experience
- Working within governance, risk, compliance, controls, or audit environments
- Managing risk registers, control frameworks, compliance activities, or governance processes
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret information, identify risks, and make recommendations
- Experience working in a regulated environment with excellent attention to detail
- Customer-focused approach balancing business needs with positive customer outcomes
- Ability to prioritise workloads effectively and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
