About the Role
We’re looking for a Water Operations Analyst to join our team, supporting the safe and effective operation of our clean water network across South London. You’ll work closely with Systems Optimisation Engineers, Leakage teams and other colleagues across the business, helping us maintain reliable water supplies, manage pressure and respond effectively when unexpected network issues arise. Please note this is a fixed term contract for up to 1 year.
Key responsibilities include investigating pressure issues, customer complaints and network alarms, using data to understand problems and identify solutions. You will support planned network isolations and optimisation projects, assist during unplanned and emergency events to minimise disruption to customers, and help investigate longer-term network issues such as low pressure, low flows, resilience and network integrity. Ensuring all network activities follow the correct operational and risk-management procedures is essential.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team focused on maintaining and improving water network performance, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Experience
A degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or science would be advantageous, or equivalent practical experience.
About you
An interest in hydraulic systems, water networks and clean water operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational and performance data. Good communication skills and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders. A proactive approach and genuine willingness to learn and develop a long-term career in the water industry. A full UK driving licence and access to transport would be helpful (but not essential) as some travel across the Thames Water area is required for this role.
Qualifications
A degree in a relevant technical discipline is preferred but not essential if you have equivalent practical experience. A full UK driving licence is desirable.
