About the Role
FTSE Russell, a division of London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), is a global index leader providing innovative benchmarking, analytics and data solutions for investors worldwide. FTSE Russell calculates thousands of indexes covering more than 70 countries and 98% of the investable market globally, with approximately $17.9 trillion benchmarked to its indexes. For over 30 years, leading asset owners, managers, ETF providers and investment banks have relied on FTSE Russell indexes to benchmark performance and create investment products.
We are seeking an experienced Sales Specialist to develop our business with Distribution clients across the UK and EMEA. This role focuses on organisations that distribute, embed or enable access to FTSE Russell index and benchmark data, including market-data platforms, wealth and investment platforms, digital brokers, fintech providers, data vendors and other distribution partners.
You will identify and develop new commercial opportunities, expand existing relationships and build senior connections across client organisations. Working closely with sales colleagues, Product, Data, Technology, Legal and wider Sales teams, you will develop solutions to support clients’ evolving data, content and distribution needs. Distribution is a key route for FTSE Russell index data to reach users through platforms such as FactSet, LSEG Workspace, Bloomberg and Morningstar.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategy for Distribution clients in the UK and supporting EMEA, mapping and prioritising opportunities, originating and closing new data licensing and subscription deals, expanding client relationships across datasets and geographies, understanding client data consumption and redistribution, leading commercial negotiations, coordinating internal teams, monitoring competitor activity, maintaining a high-quality sales pipeline, and representing FTSE Russell at industry events.
This role offers the opportunity to work across all parts of the enterprise with a hybrid working approach blending office and remote work.
Experience
Significant experience in financial-data sales, business development, client relationship management or related commercial roles. Experience working with market-data vendors, investment and wealth platforms, digital brokers, fintech firms or other distribution channels. Proven track record of developing and closing commercial opportunities. Good understanding of financial markets, index and benchmark data, and investment workflows. Knowledge of data licensing, usage rights, redistribution and enterprise data agreements.
About you
Ability to navigate complex client organisations and engage commercial, product and technology stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen with a consultative, solution-oriented sales approach. Confidence managing negotiations involving multiple stakeholders and complex data use cases. Entrepreneurial, proactive and comfortable developing new markets and client relationships. Able to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced, international environment. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills. Fluent written and spoken English. Willingness to travel across the UK and EMEA when required.
Preferred experience
Knowledge of indices, benchmarks, investment data or analytics. Experience selling data through APIs, cloud platforms or other digital delivery mechanisms. Familiarity with wealth platforms, retail-investment channels and digital distribution models. Understanding of data-display, derived-data, application and redistribution rights. Experience working within an international or matrixed organisation. Established relationships within the UK or European financial-data and platform ecosystem.
