About the Role
The purpose of a Section Engineer is to oversee the execution of a specific section of a project, ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed to the required standards. You will be responsible for delivering elements of the works on the framework in line with Costain's contractual obligations and the construction programme. Key duties include ensuring all works under your control have approved RAMS and relevant permits, following the temporary works process with correct checks and permits, briefing workforce and subcontractors effectively, and supporting client needs to facilitate smooth delivery on site. You will also contribute to weekly and monthly programming, maintain accurate site diaries, ensure assurance, ITPs and check sheets are in place, carry out safety and quality inspections, and work closely with site supervision to ensure safe and timely completion of works.
Experience
Understanding of engineering principles with technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices. Some civil or mechanical construction experience is required. Experience in design management is also essential.

You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities on site. Strong communication skills are important to effectively brief teams and liaise with clients. You must be committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
Degree or HNC level qualification in a relevant engineering subject. Relevant CSCS card is required. Vocational training or successful experience at Graduate Engineer level is essential. A full UK driving licence is also required.
