About the Role
Tetra Tech is seeking a Security Consultant to join our leading security team, working across a wide variety of sectors alongside professionally registered security experts. The role involves managing forecasting and prioritisation of resources across the security workstream and acting as a point of escalation for clients and Principal Security Consultants. You will lead the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary security projects and support day-to-day operational coordination, ensuring accurate maintenance of project information. The role includes maintaining situational awareness through coordination with National Technical Authorities and line managing Principal Security Consultants to support their continuous professional development. You will also contribute to business development by fostering and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and industry partners. This position offers the opportunity to work on prestigious built environment projects, delivering security strategies and technical designs that support client aspirations and address some of the most challenging security issues across the UK.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in security risk management within the built environment
- Proven track record delivering security projects in a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment
- Significant experience producing technical reports, threat and risk assessments, operational requirements, and specifications aligned with RIBA Plan of Work stages
- Experience managing and prioritising project team workloads including delegation and quality assurance
- Strong understanding and experience of electronic security systems, physical security design, and security operations (with one discipline preferred)
- Knowledge of current industry initiatives such as Secured by Design, security research, technology, and innovation
- Experience with risk management processes aligned to ISO 31000

- Ability to establish clear security briefs and technology requirements with clients
- Strong leadership skills with experience line managing and supporting professional development
- Willingness to travel across the UK and work in a hybrid model
- Sole UK National able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), UKSV SC, and DV clearance
Qualifications
- Relevant degree-level qualification in security or a related built environment discipline
- Chartered membership of a professional institution related to security or engineering
- Significant understanding of security risk management principles, policies, and procedures with ability to lead developments in these areas
