As a SEND Assistant Case Officer, you will support the effective administration under the Education Act 1996 and Children and Families Act 2014 of statutory assessments for children and young people with special educational needs. This includes their placement, monitoring, and annual review processes.
You will assist in the development, delivery, and review of planning, performance, and commissioning services for children, young people, families, and carers. Your role will help reduce overall costs while maximising life chances in line with the SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 2014. You will also manage the efficient administration of caseloads to ensure high quality, fully integrated services are delivered in compliance with national legislation and guidance.

Experience
- Knowledge and experience of local authority SEND services and the impact on children and families
- Strong administrative skills with a proven work history in local authority administration
- Experience and competency in assessing children and young people with SEND, including planning, delivery, and management of focused interventions and plans
- Good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory timelines
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in SEND or related services supporting children, young people, and families
- Experience interacting with service users in a polite and courteous manner
