About the Role
Bromley Council is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the housing financial management team. You will lead budget monitoring and annual budget setting for housing, including demand-led areas such as temporary accommodation, and oversee year-end account closures and returns to London Councils and grant funding organisations.

The role requires managing housing benefits subsidy claims to maximise subsidy and minimise losses, ensuring housing developments meet client demand, and leading the development of staff to support financial management delivery. You will also respond promptly to Freedom of Information requests and external audit queries.

Bromley Council prides itself on delivering high-quality services and has been recognised as outstanding by Ofsted for Children’s services in 2024. The Council embraces innovation and technology, having implemented Oracle Fusion in 2022, and continues to explore opportunities to improve financial services through technology such as Power BI.
