About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Brokerage Payments Officer to join our Adult Social Care service. In this key role, you will help ensure the timely and accurate payment of social care providers across homecare, residential, nursing and direct payment services. Working closely with Finance, Brokerage, Commissioning and Operational teams, you will lead on complex payment queries, oversee invoice processing, perform financial audits and reconciliations, and support budget monitoring and reporting. You will also play an important role in maintaining financial systems, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and delivering value for money across Adult Social Care services.

The Brokerage and Payments Team is a vital part of Adult Social Care, helping to ensure that care providers, carers and service users receive efficient and accurate financial support. Reporting to the Brokerage Payments Manager, you will work within a collaborative service that partners with Adult Social Services, Corporate Finance, Commissioning, Performance and external care providers. The team is committed to delivering high-quality services, continuous improvement and strong financial governance, making a positive difference to residents who rely on social care support.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience working in a finance environment managing complex financial processes. Strong budget monitoring and reporting experience. Experience of financial administration systems and undertaking financial audits. Knowledge of social care legislation and regulations, including the Care Standards Act and associated frameworks. Experience with systems such as SAP, Mosaic or similar financial and case management systems is highly advantageous.

A highly organised and analytical professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, providers and external stakeholders. Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables. Commitment to delivering high-quality service and strong financial governance.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in finance or social care financial administration are desirable but not explicitly stated as essential.
